This tractor has came with various engine brands, you cannot interchange the brands with one another. Here were some of the options: Briggs Intek 445777-0154, 1" x 3-5/32" shaft, 16 amp alternator, fuel pump. You will need to purchase an engine with a 16 amp alternator or reuse your stator and regulator. Kohler Command CV624-65578, 1" x 3-5/32" shaft. The exact replacement for the 65578 is the 65596. The CV20-65596 has been discontinued. You could use a Command Twin Vertical with a 1" x 3-5/32" shaft and switch out any necessary external parts from your original engine. External partrs are interchangeable from 18-27hp on Command Twins.
